Prom: Princess for the Day
Senior prom, an event of high anticipation and anxiety. It is princess for a day for senior girls lucky enough to get the coveted invitation. It doesn’t matter whom you attend with, the important thing is that you go. Either geek or hunk, the invitation is the first hurdle, which must be conquered. Once that is well secured, the dress is the first line of business. Prom dresses change over the years. Some years they are poufy ball gowns so large they are hard to sit down in, other years they are so fitted and tight they are hard to sit down in. Whatever the style, be it large or small, makes sure it fits well and is comfortable enough to enjoy your night at the ball in. You don’t see Disney princess’s pulling at their sleeves or tugging at the hem limes. Get a dress that you feel comfortable in. Too low or too short and you might be in for a long evening. Remember you will be dancing , so make sure you can move.
The third hurdle after invitation and dress is shoes. Same rules hold true for shoes as for dress. Make sure your shoes are comfortable. Five-inch stilettos might make for a sexy line with your dress, but if you can’t walk in them, it will be a miserable night. Try a mid-heel, something you can dance and walk in. A too-tight, too high, torture contraption could very possible ruin your perfect night.
Lastly, get your nails and hair done. Either fake nails or a pretty manicure should do the job. Your nails are important on a night like this. Get your hair done; try the style you want to wear in advance as not to stress your big day.
Lastly, enjoy yourself. Be nice to your date be it geek or hunk. Get a well-fit dress; comfortable shoes (or at least some you can walk in) get fake nails or a manicure. Get your hair done, apply make-up beautifully, not too heavy, and enjoy your senior prom. You are the princess for the day so enjoy yourself.
