Stylish Window Treatments Using Wrought Iron Curtain Rods

Using wrought iron curtain rods in your home will enable you to change the look of your windows simply and quickly. The finials come in a variety of designs and are very effective in making your windows look unique and very stylish.

They are available in a variety of lengths and diameters, as well as different colors to allow you to match them to the color scheme in your home. Wrought iron is quite heavy, and obviously the thicker and longer the rod, the heavier it will be.

The rods themselves are there to hold the curtain. What will really change the whole look are the finials you choose. These are the decorative stop ends that you screw onto the ends of the rod to stop the curtains from sliding off. Finials come in a range of styles to suit all tastes, making it easy to find those that match your style and what will fit in with the look of the rest of your home.

The trick with using these rails in your window treatments is to make sure they are fitted securely. This can be achieved by ensuring that you fit the brackets for the rods about four inches on either side of the window into the solid supports. Also, the length of your curtains will determine the height that the brackets should be fitted, taking into consideration that the bottom of your curtains should not touch the floor.

Now it is simply a matter of sliding your curtains onto the rod, attaching the finials to either end, and putting the rail into the brackets. Make your windows look even more elegant by using tie backs to hold your curtains back during the day. As with the rails, make sure to mount them about four inches on either side of the window to ensure that they are attached securely.
